To Test Out Some New Baits | Excuse to Fish #309

Updated: Apr 23

I recently unwrapped some giant swimbaits and soft plastics designed for pike.

I can't wait to throw them.

I'll probably wear out my shoulder. My wrist will sting for a few days. My elbow will ache like I've played 40 rounds of tennis. All of that is worth it for a giant.

I'm already imagining the flash of green as it swipes at the lure.

If you haven't been out in a while, tie a new fly pattern or pick up a new bait. That might be the only thing missing in your arsenal.

That might be what the fish want.

Sleeping in is a waste of daylight. Do what you love––go fishing.

No excuses.
