I can't wait till season opens up. The days are sunny and warmer than ever, but it doesn't really feel like Spring has escaped Winter quite yet. At least, not here in New England. Oh, it's also the global pandemic preventing people from leaving the house. The season is still coming...eventually. Use this time at home to get some work done in the garage or shed. Organize your rods––try finishing that rod rack you started––or string them up with fresh line. Organize your tackle and sharpen all your hooks. Clean. Before you know it we'll be back to the fishing meet-ups, captain's meetings, and slack tide hangouts. Enjoy a post-fishing beer at home at the tying bench. Take it easy and get ready.
Sleeping in is a waste of daylight. Do what you love––go fishing. No excuses. This blog post was originally sent as part of my new daily newsletter series, An Excuse to Fish. If you like excuses to go fishing, a new one delivered to your inbox every morning, sign up for the daily newsletter.
