To Make An Absolute Fool of Yourself | Excuse to Fish #763

Updated: Apr 23

There's no better teacher than a fish.

If you walk around during your day-to-day doing well for yourself, making good decisions, and seeing the results you want, you could get to thinking that you're a big shot. By all appearances, you know what you're doing.

Try bring that same confidence to a persnickety trout, or a skittish striped bass in skinny, crystal clear water, or a brutish pike that doesn't care about your fly.

You'll feel that ticklish humility feeling pretty quickly, with just one swipe of a fin.

The best thing to do in those situations is laugh. Laugh like a fool.

Then cast again.

Sleeping in is a waste of daylight. Do what you love––go fishing.

No excuses.
