Here's my plan: I always start with a search bait––something that covers water quickly and is designed to attract attention. If a fish sees it they'll hit.
If that's what they want.
If that's not what they want, I'll switch to something slow or subtle. Bouncing a jig with a soft bait trailer along the white sand is due for a strike. If I need something natural, I go with a sparsely tied, natural colored Clouser Minnow.
Little secret: A tan and white Clouser always works.
Another secret: a Clouser minnow is always my plan. It works––why change it?
With a Clouser Minnow I always have a plan.
Sleeping in is a waste of daylight. Do what you love––go fishing.
