I call it being particular––others say neurotic. Either way, details are important. That's always where the problems come up on an otherwise-smooth day on the water. If you look at a particularly detailed, mundane task and decide to skip it, to wait until tomorrow, that's the exact thing that goes wrong. Have you ever thought about checking a knot after catching a fish? How many times do you just recast before checking? How often does your line break. 9/10 your line breaks right after not checking a knot. Before going anywhere, get to those details. Check your knots.
