To Add to Your Stash of Catch Data | Excuse to Fish #369

I care about words, but my job has always been about numbers. In a career tied to the internet––just a string of the numbers 1 and 0––data is everything.

{GIFs are data too}

Some anglers track their catches through data, tallying each fish on an app, mapping out their fishing season over time, or tracking total length in a year.

The more information you can connect to each catch––barometric pressure, season, wind speed, air temperature, water temperature, lure color, depth––the more you can predict where to place your next cast, and with what lure.

Data can drive both your work, and your play.

Not me though.

I barely catch enough fish to track.
