Think of how sweet it'll be to finally get back on the water with the crew. There's always a crew. Especially with kayak fishermen. We like to travel in groups. It helps to swap ideas about what's working, share lures, keep an eye on approaching storm clouds, or gather local knowledge from the extended network of anglers. Right about now, waiting for a buddy to show up, at daybreak––though you've been there for an hour already––doesn't seem so bad to me. For now, just get the kayak ready for the first trip of the season. Eventually, we'll have a season to share.
Sleeping in is a waste of daylight. Do what you love––go fishing.
